Let us jump back into the pages and look at how Rex uses his powers....

Most of Metamorpho’s powers were used simply to alter elemental form to accomplish his goals. Changing into helium gas to fly away, this is expected, or titanium to bludgen objects. This is good science. 12 of the 20 things listed I would consider GOOD SCIENCE! However, that means 8 that either tip-toed the line or where way off. Not bad for a comic book that pushes the limits of reality.
There were a couple other amazing scientific events that happened in this Metamorphic journey, which were not addressed in this review. One, the humans oddly had a device that could translate the alien language, assuming they have never encountered these aliens before would be quite a profound device to be able to instantaneously translate a previously unheard of language. Two, the Atom shows up and shows off his amazing atomic powers of changing size. Lastly, the scientific query of the Flash’s remarkable speed! These events will be left for another time, I like to focus mainly on the main characters actions or what is being done to the main character.
In conclusion, Metamorpho Year One is a beginning tale of the character with scientific inaccuracies, a decent enough story and art the services the character well. If you are not familiar with the character it can be a good short run to gain some knowledge and let your imagination go wild with the limitless possibilities of Metamorpho. Most of the science is good with about 40% C.B.S. Read and enjoy!
