Marvel's New Avengers # 18
Hickman (w) Schiti (a)
King Black Bolt was nearly beaten to death by Thanos recently. We were lead to believe that he may have died. Marvel has recently revealed that Maximus has saved Black Bolt and he is healing.
The illustration shown indicates that Black Bolt is in a chamber full of, seemingly, water with a good supply of oxygen and a couple other cords connecting to something, which looks like a bacta chamber from Star Wars. If it's good enough to heal Luke Skywalker, it's good enough to heal Black Bolt (especially since Disney owns it all now).
QUESTIONS:
1.) Does water have healing properties?
2.) What could be put in the water chamber to help?
3.) Wouldn't you look like a human prune after too long?
ANSWERS:
1.) Humans consist of about 60% water (1). Considering that we are made of such a large percentage of water, being in a water chamber may allow for a restoration process for the chemicals in our body, such as diluting the harmful chemicals in the body and allowing proper flow of other chemicals. There is no doubt being in water takes pressure off our bodies, which allows them to relax more; relaxing does help the healing process (2).
2.) Depending on the individuals, they will need different chemicals in the chamber to help restore their body for their specific ailment. Mineral baths have been used for centuries as a way to relax and heal the body. Natural hot springs with high mineral content are used; people by bath salts to put in their own tub for the to attempt to relax and let the body heal.
Once, I went on a trip to Saratoga Springs, NY and took a relaxing dip into a mineral bath. I was resistant to the idea, at first. However, I felt that it was soothing, relaxing and came out thinking there may be more than meets the eye. (3)
3.) Our whole body would not become wrinkly, just our fingers and toes. Why? It’s an evolution thing. Our fingers and toes have a better chance of picking up wet objects with wrinkly digits than dry unwrinkled ones. This whole wrinkling phenomena is controlled by our nervous system!
